Teller she’s onto something!
Miles Teller’s grandmother believes the actor would be perfect as the next James Bond now that Daniel Craig has retired from the role.
“They’re looking for an actor to replace Daniel Craig for future 007 movies,” Leona Flowers tweeted Wednesday. “I think my grandson, Miles Teller, has proven that he has everything they’re looking for- talent, looks, strength, worldwide appeal & oh, so cool. He can be that guy!! Wouldn’t he be great?”
Fans clearly agree, as Flowers’ tweet garnered more than 5,000 “likes” and nearly 400 retweets.
When one follower shared that they were joining the campaign, Flowers responded, “I know you know talent and style when you see it. Miles Teller for 007!! Yeah, Baby⭐️.”
Some people tweeted that Teller, 35, could not play the part because the “Top Gun: Maverick” star is American and not British, but Flowers held strong on the matter.
“He could make you think he was [from Great Britain] 👍🏻😊,” she wrote, adding, “And lots of Europeans have played Americans. He studied acting which includes accents. He’d be great.”
Flowers even went so far as to say that British people would welcome her grandson with open arms as the next Bond.
“TY Screen Rant 4 your piece on me,” she wrote, retweeting the entertainment site’s coverage of her tweets. “I know u & your followers want 2 c more of Miles. Everyone does! I think our English friends would welcome him as 007.”
She added, “The folks in London loved him when he was just there with the premiere of Top Gun Maverick. He even charmed William & Kate🇬🇧.”
Flowers, the author of “Pages from Grandma’s Notebooks,” is clearly very proud of Teller and his career in Hollywood given her Twitter bio states, “I’m Miles teller’s Gramma.”
Craig, who played 007 in five movies, retired from the iconic role after starring in last year’s “No Time to Die.” He has been known for pushing back on continuing the role, famously saying in 2015 after “Spectre” came out that he would “rather … slash [his] wrists” than do another Bond movie.
However, he went on to reprise his role in the 2021 film, which reportedly earned him $25 million.
