Officials from the Miss Universe organization have announced that Miss Jamaica, Gabrielle Henry, is in good condition and is expected to be discharged soon from a hospital in Thailand. This follows a dramatic fall she experienced during the 2026 Miss Universe pageant held in Bangkok last week.

Raul Rocha, President of the Miss Universe Organization, provided an update on Monday stating, “We are pleased to report that the latest medical assessment indicates Dr. Gabrielle Henry is in excellent health and will soon be released.”

While Rocha refrained from disclosing specific details about Henry’s medical care, he emphasized that the organization is committed to sharing only necessary updates with professionalism and sensitivity.

Rocha reassured fans that immediate medical attention was given to Henry following her fall, and that the Miss Universe organization is covering all related medical expenses.

The 28-year-old contestant was wearing an orange evening gown and high heels when she accidentally stepped off an elevated platform, causing her to fall. Social media footage captured the moment she was taken away on a stretcher.

Henry’s family said Friday that the pageant contestant wasn’t “doing as well” as they’d hoped while being treated in an intensive care unit overseas. The extent of her injuries has been unclear. Rocha said last week that she’s suffered no broken bones.

Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, Henry’s sister, is currently in Thailand to oversee her treatment and recovery.
