FALL BRANCH, Tenn. (WJHL) — On Friday, a serious accident involving multiple vehicles on Interstate-81 in Sullivan County resulted in two individuals being transported to the hospital, as reported by the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP).
The crash was reported at 7:10 p.m. at mile marker 54.6, according to TDOT.
According to the THP, a Cadillac XT4 was reducing speed in the right lane on I-81 southbound, while a Ford F-250 also slowed in the adjacent left lane. The Ford attempted to switch to the right lane, sideswiping the Cadillac in the process.
The Ford then veered onto the grass shoulder on the right, flipping over before landing back on its wheels, while the Cadillac moved into the grass median.
The driver and passenger of the Ford were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, the THP said.
According to THP, all individuals involved were wearing their seatbelts and no charges have been filed.
