NYC parkgoer shot in the face by moped-riding hooligans at Fort Washington Park

A man was shot in the face in a Manhattan park by two armed moped riders, and he fired back at them with his own weapon as they made their escape, as reported by sources.

The unnamed victim was with a woman, sitting on a rock beside the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park, when around 11:50 p.m., two men approached them on a moped, police sources revealed.

After a brief exchange and tussle, one of the moped-riding  men fired a gun and hit the victim in the face.

In response, the man drew his own firearm and fired two rounds toward the fleeing suspects on the motorbike, according to the NYPD.

The victim is suspected to survive.

An investigation is ongoing.
