“Our main focus has consistently been offering students a top-notch education, and this agreement allows us to further this mission,” mentioned Charles Cush, Board of Education President. “This demonstrates our commitment to maintaining Naperville 203 as an outstanding district for both students and educators.”

The details of the agreement will be presented to the respective parties for consideration and a vote, officials said.

“We are immensely thankful to our students, families, and the entire community for their unwavering support during this challenging period. We couldn’t have reached this without you,” said Ross Berkley, President of NUEA. “We are pleased to confirm we’ve secured a tentative agreement that recognizes both our students and educators, ensuring we uphold the high standards of excellence in District 203.”

Prior to the agreement, a strike was possible as soon as Tuesday.

Naperville School District 203 teachers could go on strike as soon as this coming Tuesday as negotiations with continued Friday.

Teachers went back to work earlier this month without a contract after months of contract talks.

Berkeley said the last time Naperville teachers actually hit the picket lines was back in the early 90s for just a few days.

The main contention point had been teacher compensation.
