A naturopathic doctor has revealed how you can get back to feeling your best after going on vacation with three simple and easy tips.
The important information was shared in a new video posted to TikTok this week by Dr. Janine Bowring, a Canada-based expert who has over 25 years of experience.
While she typically gives her tips for longevity and even how to have healthy bowel movements, this time she offered guidance for those who may be feeling a bit out of sorts from their holiday.
‘Maybe you’ve indulged a little bit more than what you would have usually during your vacation, these detox tips will help,’ Dr. Bowring began.
The first tip she offered was one that is essential – and that’s to stay hydrated.
‘Number one, you’re gonna drink lots of water,’ she said.
‘Just flush everything out through your kidneys, through your skin, increase your hydration,’ Dr. Bowring added.
Of course, water is essential to the human body and its detox systems, as the kidneys use water to flush out waste product.

Amy Hess-Fischl, RD, CDE, of the University of Chicago Kovler Diabetes Center, told Everyday Health that if your body is not getting enough water, ‘metabolic wastes will not be removed as efficiently as they should.’
Next on her list, the naturopath suggested cutting out both alcohol and sugar for a short period of time.
Per Healthline, cutting out alcohol for just 30 days can have a profound effect on your body and your overall health.
Not only can not drinking help reduce the risk of certain diseases, like cancer, it can also improve your sleep and encourage weight loss.
In particular, women who are going through menopause may be more sensitive to alcohol-related weight gain, according to the outlet.
‘You are helping to detox your internal organs, giving your microbiome a chance as well ,’ Dr. Bowring explained.
And, finally, she recommended taking some herbal medicines that will help you achieve a ‘full body detox.’
Some of the ingredients she named were milk thistle, dandelion, parsley and bearberry.

Many of the herbs she mentioned can have healing properties, but they won’t necessarily ‘detox’ you.
For example, milk thistle may improve symptoms of indigestion, per Mayo Clinic.
Some believe that the supplement can aid in healing liver disease, as it has an anti-inflammatory property.
However, more research is needed, per the Clinic.
