New surveillance footage seems to capture the man authorities claim assassinated Charlie Kirk, approaching Utah Valley University’s campus hours before he allegedly committed the murder.
The footage, acquired by TMZ, appears to depict Tyler Robinson wearing the same attire he had upon initially arriving at the campus event, where the 31-year-old conservative figure was shot in the neck in front of thousands.
The clip, taken at 8:07 a.m. Wednesday in a residential area near the university, shows a man dressed in a maroon T-shirt, light-colored shorts, sunglasses, a baseball cap, and sneakers.
Officials previously said the suspect drove to campus in a gray Dodge Challenger at around 8:30 that same morning.
In this clip, he is clad in dark clothing, moving swiftly but without attracting attention. Law enforcement has yet to confirm whether the individual seen in the TMZ footage is the shooter.
The shooting triggered a massive manhunt across Utah County, with police urging residents to shelter in place.
After more than 36 hours, officers located and arrested the suspected assassin late Thursday night.
He was jailed without bail on preliminary charges of aggravated murder, felony firearm discharge, and obstruction of justice. Formal charges are still pending.
