President Trump announced through his Truth Social account that Charlie Kirk has died, saying:
“The remarkable and even legendary Charlie Kirk has passed away. Nobody connected with or understood the young people of America quite like Charlie. He was universally adored, especially by me, and now he’s gone. Melania and I extend our deepest condolences to his lovely wife, Erika, and their family. Charlie, you will be missed.”
Charlie Kirk was 31 and is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two children.

The Associated Press states that Charlie Kirk is in critical condition at a hospital in Utah, though specific details remain private. Additionally, the Deseret News has corrected its earlier reports, indicating that there is no suspect currently in custody.

FBI Director Kash Patel issued the following statement:
“We are carefully following the reports of the unfortunate shooting involving Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Our thoughts are with Charlie, his family, and everyone affected by this event. Agents will be present on the scene promptly, and the FBI supports the ongoing response and investigation wholeheartedly.”
President Trump asked the country to pray for Kirk, describing him as “a great guy from top to bottom.”
