In a tragic incident early Saturday morning in the Bronx, a woman lost her life, and her teenage son sustained serious injuries following a brutal knife attack allegedly carried out by her boyfriend, police reported.

The victim, identified as 42-year-old Yesenia Hall, suffered fatal stab wounds to her neck and torso, while her 16-year-old son was injured in the neck and back. The attack took place around 6:30 a.m. inside their apartment on Sherman Avenue in the Highbridge neighborhood, according to law enforcement officials.

Authorities have identified the suspect as a 45-year-old man who, after the violent assault, changed his clothing and fled the scene. He was reportedly seen wearing a neon safety vest and a hardhat at a construction site located at 163rd Street and College Avenue.

A trail of blood led from her apartment door to the front door in Highbridge, Bronx.

“I heard a lot of movements like somebody was thrown, you know, to the wall or something or somebody was moving furniture or something,” she told The Post.

“I heard [someone] saying … ‘No, no, no, no,’” she recalled, noting that the voice didn’t sound like an adult. “Maybe it was a teenager saying that.”
