Report: NYC Mayor's Wife Celebrated Female Terrorist Hijacker Online

The wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, identified as a democratic socialist, has come under scrutiny for allegedly praising terrorists on social media platforms X and Tumblr several years back. This information comes from screenshots obtained by the Washington Free Beacon.

According to a report released on Wednesday, the Free Beacon reviewed accounts associated with 28-year-old Rama Duwaji and found posts that included an image of Palestinian terrorist Leila Khaled. Khaled, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), is infamously known as the first woman to hijack an airplane, a figure celebrated by some extremist factions, the outlet reported.

Duwaji allegedly used the N-word in one X post when she was 15. Readers can view some of the screenshots here:

The Free Beacon managed to connect these social media accounts to Duwaji through various methods. Both accounts referenced her name in some form, and another user had tagged Duwaji in a post featuring her image, which the Free Beacon confirmed using facial recognition technology available to the public. Additionally, the accounts contained mentions of Duwaji’s birthday and the name of her pet cat, further linking them to her.

Recently, Duwaji faced allegations of endorsing social media posts that applauded the violent terrorist attack on Israel that occurred on October 7, 2023. Her husband defended her in a statement reported on March 7.

“My wife is the love of my life and a private person who has not held any formal role in my campaign or within City Hall,” Mamdani stated. “My election was to serve all eight and a half million people of this city, and it is my duty to address questions about my thoughts, policies, and positions.”

Following the publication of the Beacon article, Duwaji reportedly deactivated an old X account, as noted by the New York Post.

Duwaji also reportedly deactivated an old X account after the Beacon article was published, according to the New York Post.

Mamdani, who took the oath of office with his hand on a Quran in January, has been using the city government to show official support for Islamic radicals, – News reported March 12.

“Many American progressives — like their European peers — are willing to make political alliances with Islamic advocates and their bloc-voting Muslim immigrants,” the article said, adding “Overall, the Mayor is aggressively expanding opportunities for orthodox Islamic groups in New York to expand their visibility, influence, political demands, and endorsement of political violence against Islam’s enemies — but especially against Jews.”
