Two people injured in Oceanway shooting, officials say


Two individuals were transported to the hospital following a shooting incident on Hayden Lakes Circle, currently under investigation by Jacksonville police.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Authorities are delving into a shooting that occurred Tuesday evening in the Oceanway neighborhood, specifically on Hayden Lakes Circle.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to the area just after 7 p.m. upon receiving reports of a shooting involving two victims.

The victims, who reside nearby, were reportedly walking through the neighborhood when an unknown assailant or assailants opened fire on them, as stated by the sheriff’s office.

One of the victims is in their early 20s, while the other is a teenager. The injuries sustained include a gunshot wound to one victim’s chest and another to the thigh, both fortunately deemed non-life-threatening by the authorities.

At this time, no details about the suspect have been released.
