Crimson-clad clown flings shredded Quran at NYC mosque, smears feces on building: cops

A vandal, lacking in fitness and sporting a head-to-toe red outfit, targeted a Brooklyn mosque by scattering torn Quran pages and smearing feces on the building, according to police reports.

This shocking incident occurred at the Islamic Mission of America in Brooklyn Heights at approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 9. The individual threw ripped pages of the Quran on the mosque’s steps, as per investigators’ findings.

After a brief absence, the same man returned to defile the mosque’s door with excrement, police disclosed.

The conspicuously dressed individual, clad entirely in red, then hurried off eastward along State Street, authorities noted.

Surveillance footage captured the bearded suspect strolling casually in a red tracksuit, swinging a small black plastic bag, and wearing a black beanie rolled up around his head.

The man also concealed his face with a black mask, police added.

The NYPD is investigating the unsanitary outburst as a hate crime.

The incident follows several other apparent anti-Muslim attacks in recent weeks.

A subway mugger last week threw a Muslim woman to the ground and taunted her over Mayor Zohran Mamdani, New York City’s first Muslim mayor.

“It’s funny how terrorists can walk around now,” the bigot snarled at the terrified 20-year-old woman.

In January, a 34-year-old woman went on a hate-filled rampage in the middle of the afternoon, assaulting two hijab-wearing women and randomly punching a 12-year-old girl in Bay Ridge Brooklyn, prosecutors said.
