Get ready to don your yellow boots and red cap, as the third installment in the Paddington series, Paddington in Peru, will be available on digital platforms starting tomorrow.
While it may not have reached the same level of success as the 2014 release of Paddington or the 2017 sequel Paddington 2, this film continues the delightful narrative of the live-action series about the beloved British children’s character, Paddington the Bear, created by the renowned author Michael Bond.
Ben Whishaw reprises his role as the voice behind Paddington, who discovers through a letter that his Aunt Lucy in Peru is in dire straits and requests his presence. Consequently, Paddington embarks on a journey to Peru! Predictably, our adored trouble-making bear finds himself in a range of mischievous scenarios within the Peruvian wilderness.
Directed by Dougal Wilson—with a screenplay written by Paul King, Simon Farnaby, and Mark Burton—Paddington in Peru also stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Julie Walters, Olivia Colman, and Antonio Banderas. If you didn’t get a chance to see Paddington 3 in theaters, you’ll soon be able to buy and rent the movie online. But we also expect to see Paddington in Peru streaming on Netflix in the coming months.
Beginning on Tuesday, April 1 at 12 a.m. Eastern Time (which is also Monday, March 31 at 9 p.m. Pacific Time) Paddington in Peru will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Vudu, and more.
The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the movie will cost $19.99 to rent, and $24.99 to buy. If you rent the movie, you will have a 48-hour window to watch it after you hit “play.”
Paddington in Peru will also release on Blu-ray and DVD on April 29, 2025. Both the digital and physical release will include the following special features: “Create your own ADVENTURE MAP, ” “Create your own FRIENDSHIP BRACELET,” “‘Let’s Prepare For Paddington’ Sing-Along,” “The MAKING of PADDINGTON IN PERU,” “SET TOUR: The Browns’ House,” and “SET TOUR: The Home for Retired Bears.”
Paddington in Peru is not currently streaming free on any of the subscription-based streaming services. However, if you don’t want to pay to buy or rent the movie, we do expect to see Paddington in Peru streaming on Netflix in the near future.
Paddington in Peru will likely be on Netflix in the next few months. Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Another recent Sony movie, Kraven the Hunter, came to Netflix about three months after opening in theaters, while Sony’s One of Them Days began streaming on Netflix just two-and-a-half months after opening in theaters. Still other Sony movies have taken four months to come to Netflix. So while it hasn’t been consistent every time, we do expect to see Paddington 3 on Netflix in the next few months.
If Paddington in Peru follows the same release pattern as Kraven the Hunter, you can expect Paddington in Peru to stream on Netflix around May 2025, aka three months after the movie opened in theaters in the U.S. in February. It will be free to stream for anyone with a Netflix subscription.
In the meantime, you can watch the Paddington in Peru movie online by buying or renting the movie on digital platforms.
