MULTIPLE people are injured after a knifeman went on a rampage and stabbed shoppers.
Customers were targeted at the Ratina shopping centre in the Finnish city of Tampere earlier today.
One person was arrested following the violent attack, which took place at around 4.30pm local time.
First aid was administered to stabbing victims at the scene, and police established a security perimeter in the nearby area, although the exact number of victims remains unclear.
Photos from the scene show blood staining the terrace outside the shops.
A witness reported to Finnish news source Ilta-Sanomat that the scene was marked by “a lot of blood” and mentioned observing two individuals receiving first aid while lying on the ground.
Another bystander told the paper they “heard a woman scream that she had been stabbed.”
They added: “I didn’t really have time to react because I was in such shock.”
Police reassured the public this afternoon that they had the situation under control.
A spokesperson said: “The situation no longer poses a danger to outsiders. The victims are being given first aid.”
Local cops have launched an investigation and are understood to be interviewing witnesses.
