If the upcoming HBO Max switcharoo wasn’t enough, Paramount+ has instituted a new rebrand for its highest tier plan.
According to a notice on the help page of the streaming service’s website, Paramount+ has renamed their ad-free plan from Paramount+ with SHOWTIME to Paramount+ Premium as of Monday (June 23). The reason behind this change is that Paramount+ has introduced a selection of SHOWTIME programming to their Essential plan, and they want the Premium plan name to better represent the wide range of content available in both plan tiers.
On the Paramount+ Essential plan, viewers can now enjoy Showtime shows such as Season 1 of Yellowjackets, Seasons 1 and 2 of Couples Therapy, Season 1 of The Agency: Central Intelligence, and the complete collection of all eight seasons of Dexter.
The notice further clarifies, “SHOWTIME programming continues to play a significant role on Paramount+, and is still a key feature on the service!” It also reassures customers that the name of the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME network on cable, satellite, or live TV streaming services like Hulu with Live TV will not change.
The price and features of the plan have not changed, meaning that the plan will still cost $12.99/month or $119.99/year, and will include ad-free streaming (outside of live TV), all Showtime content, downloadable movies and shows, access to your local CBS station (including NFL on CBS and UEFA Champions League live) and CBS News coverage, up to six individual profiles on your account, streaming on up to three devices concurrently, 40,000+ full episodes and hit movies on demand, and exclusive, subscriber-only originals.
