In a bold move against narco-terrorism, a specialized team from the Joint Task Force Southern Spear successfully intercepted and neutralized a vessel associated with a recognized terrorist group in the Pacific Ocean. This operation, which resulted in the deaths of four militants, was carried out without any casualties on the U.S. side. The decisive action was confirmed in a statement released Wednesday night by the U.S. Southern Command (SOUTHCOM) on the social media platform, X.

The high-stakes operation unfolded in international waters along a notorious drug trafficking corridor in the Eastern Pacific. According to the Department of War, the strike was meticulously executed, leading to the demise of four individuals identified as narco-terrorists.

Under the guidance of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, the mission was launched following the confirmation of intelligence reports indicating the vessel’s illicit activities. The operation underscores the commitment of U.S. forces to combat terrorism and disrupt the flow of illegal narcotics.

In their announcement, SOUTHCOM detailed the successful execution of the lethal kinetic strike, reinforcing their ongoing efforts to safeguard international waters from the threats posed by drug trafficking and terrorism.

The operation was initiated at the direction of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth after intelligence verified the vessel’s mission.
