Arrest made in connection to stabbing at Brunswick home, police say

In Brunswick, Georgia, a troubling incident has led to the arrest of 33-year-old Grace Freeman. She is now facing multiple serious charges, including aggravated assault, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, false imprisonment, and battery. These charges are particularly severe as they pertain to family violence.

The Glynn County Police Department reported that the incident unfolded early on a Monday morning, at a residence located on Dusty Lane. Police officers responded swiftly to the scene at approximately 12:49 a.m., following reports of a stabbing.

Upon their arrival, officers discovered both the victim and Freeman at the location. The victim had suffered a single stab wound. Prompt action was taken by the Glynn County Fire Rescue team, who provided immediate medical assistance before transporting the injured individual to the Southeast Georgia Health System-Brunswick Campus for further treatment.

This alarming situation highlights the critical response of emergency services in handling violent incidents and the ongoing need for vigilance in safeguarding community safety.

When they arrived, officers located the victim who was stabbed once, the police department said, as well as Freeman.

Members of Glynn County Fire Rescue then responded to the scene, police said, and rendered aid and transported the victim to the Southeast Georgia Health System-Brunswick Campus.

Meanwhile, Freeman was taken to the Glynn County Police Department’s headquarters for questioning. During this time, a search warrant was obtained for the home to “process the scene and for the recovery evidence,” police said.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Anyone with information on it is asked to contact the Glynn County Police Department’s non-emergency number at 912-554-3645. To provide information anonymously, call Silent Witness at 912-264-1333.
