Man dead after shooting on Jacksonville's Southside, police say

Police said the initial investigation found the victim was approached by an unknown suspect, robbed and shot twice.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Sunday night, a robbery culminated in a shooting on the city’s Northside, resulting in one man being hospitalized, as stated by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

At around 9 p.m. on Sunday, police were dispatched to the 11600 block of Hickory Oak Drive for a report of a person being shot. The victim transported himself to the hospital and is currently in a condition that is not life-threatening.

Police said the initial investigation found the victim was approached by an unknown suspect, robbed and shot twice.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, police said.
