Americans remain sharply divided along political lines concerning the US conflict with Iran, as evidenced by several recent polls. The data reveals that while a majority oppose Operation Epic Fury, support varies significantly between political parties, with Democrats considerably less inclined to endorse President Trump’s Middle East military initiative compared to their Republican counterparts.
According to a Quinnipiac University Poll released on Monday, 53% of voters disapprove of military action in Iran, whereas 40% are in favor. The survey highlights stark partisan differences, showing that 89% of Democrats oppose the war, while 85% of Republicans support it. Additionally, around 60% of independents are also against the military operation.
Before the joint US-Israel airstrikes on February 28 targeting Iran’s regime leaders and military assets, 55% of those polled did not perceive Iran as an immediate threat, while 40% thought otherwise, as per Quinnipiac’s findings. The perception of threat also reveals a partisan divide, with 83% of Democrats and 63% of independents indicating that Iran was not an imminent danger, in contrast to 74% of Republicans who believed the opposite.

Among Democrats, 89% are against the war, while 85% of Republicans back it, the survey found. About 60% of independents were opposed as well.
A majority (55%) indicated that they didn’t view Iran as an imminent threat before the Feb. 28 joint US-Israel airstrikes targeting regime leaders and military infrastructure, while 40% said they did see the country as an imminent threat to the US, according to Quinnipiac
The threat question also split Americans along party lines, with 83% of Democrats and 63% of independents responding that Iran didn’t pose an imminent threat, whereas 74% of Republicans argued the opposite.
The latest Fox News poll showed Americans split evenly on the Iran war, with half opposed to and half in support of the fighting.
However, the partisan divide was also evident in the Fox News survey, with about 80% of Democrats voicing opposition to the war and 84% of Republicans indicating support for it.

About 40% of independents surveyed by Fox approved of Trump’s military action against Iran.
Similarly, 90% of Dems disapproved of the airstrikes in a CBS News survey, whereas 85% of Republicans approved. The poll also revealed most Americans (56%) opposed the war.
An NBC News poll found 89% of Democrats were against the US strikes and 77% of Republicans (including 90% of “MAGA” Republicans) in favor of the assault on Iran. Overall, a 54% majority was against the war.
Recent surveys from NPR/PBS/Marist (44%–55%), the Washington Post (39%–52%), CNN (41%–59%) and Reuters/Ipsos (27%–43%) also indicate minority support for the war, according to Fox News.
Trump said Monday afternoon that he believes the war is “going to be finished pretty quickly.”
“I think you’ll see it’s going to be a short-term excursion,” the president said.
