America's most beloved brands embrace April Fools by tricking fans with range of hilarious pranks

The funniest day of the year is back once again.

April Fools Day is when trust issues are justified and gullibility is put to the test.

If you’ve already tripled-checked your coffee for salt and hesitated before sitting in a chair – congratulations! Keep that energy going.

To add to the chaos, DailyMail.com has rounded up some of the most hilarious pranks pulled off by some of America’s most beloved brands.

Daily Mail itself even got in on some of the fun in a recent office prank after partnering with Ryde, pocket-size dietary supplement shots with zero sugar, to prank members of our staff with the help of ‘personality hire’ comedian Brittany Brave in a video posted to TikTok (@dailymail).

Bryant Park lazy river

In honor of the comedic holiday, one of New York’s popular parks took part in the fun.

On Instagram, Bryant Park posted a picture of the landscape on a sunny day with its iconic fountain at the forefront.

‘Splash into serenity, our 400 square foot lazy river is now open,’ the caption read.

There were several colorful floaties and a rogue noodle in the fountain with one woman also floating by in a tube.

‘In celebration of our free amenities opening today, we’re debuting the newest addition to our Midtown oasis: a 400 square foot freshwater lazy river!’ the caption continued.

‘This tranquil extension to our beloved pink granite fountain is heated for spring and features poolside rafts, towels for in-between plunges, and gentle currents that will carry you through the heart of the park.

‘The #lazyriver is free to use and staffed daily from 11am to 7pm. For more information, check today’s date.’

Many people were very excited about this idea with one saying: ‘The way I’d actually do this.’

While some said they wouldn’t share soup with others, a few people were excited.

‘Don’t taunt me like this lol that looks to good,’ a user commented.

‘New happy hour unlocked,’ someone shared.

Panera Bread’s extra large bowl

Panera Bread is known for its infamous bread bowls and broccoli cheddar soup.

The restaurant decided this year they would prank customers with an XL bread bowl which is ‘perfect for soup-er close friends.’

Panera posted a short video on Instagram (@panerabread) of three friends sitting outside while someone runs over with a bread bowl filled with soup.

However it wasn’t the normal size – it was about the size of a large pizza.

The videos showed the friends dipping in their spoons and enjoying it together. 

Charli XCX as the New Creative Director of Balenciaga

Singer and icon Charli XCX has been all the rave since Brat Summer shook the nation.

In a post by Dazed on Instagram, they shared that the singer has taken on a new role as the new creative director of Balenciaga.

‘The game of fashion musical chairs takes its most unexpected turn yet — @charli_xcx has been named the new creative director of @balenciaga, set to take the reins after Demna’s final show this April.⁠,’ the caption humored.

⁠’After her foray into film — most recently working on the A24 film The Moment — Charli is now bringing her genre-defying vision to the world of fashion. 

‘Known for pushing boundaries in music and aesthetics alike, sources say she’s been quietly preparing for this move, working closely with Balenciaga’s atelier to craft a bold new era for the house.⁠

⁠’Her first collection is rumored to debut this September, with insiders hinting at a disruptive, hyperpop-infused take on couture.⁠

⁠’One thing’s for sure: it’s about to get BRATenciaga….oh, and also happy April Fools’ Day.’

The post pranked a lot of users including Charli herself who commented on the post.

‘Honestly, you even got me,’ she wrote.      

Kendrick Lamar and Drake performing together

Despite the serious beef between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake, Culted still managed to trick a few users.

The company posted a shocking post on Instagram claiming that the two performers would be at the Wireless Festival together.  

‘@wirelessfest just announced that Kendrick Lamar will be joining Drake on the first of the three nights he’s headlining Wireless Festival 2025 in London,’ the caption read.

‘The news Drake was headlining all three nights of the festival, his first UK show in six years, was already big, but Wireless now confirming Kendrick will be joining him onstage in Finsbury Park on July 11th is setting the event up for the history books.

‘Between the two rappers, they have 27 Grammys (K-dot owning 22 of those, and Drake 5) and have both proven themselves as legendary artists, so you can trust their set will be massive.

‘Both rappers have been in the headlines not just for their music but for their ongoing beef, coming to a head when Drake launched a lawsuit against UMG, and Kendrick Lamar dragged him at the SuperBowl.’

It ended with: ‘But does this mean the feud between K-dot and Drake is finally over? Or were you dumb enough to believe this April Fools?’

A few people were shocked by the post writing: ‘Whoever came up with this one deserves a raise.’

‘Damn, I was so invested that you got me reading the whole thing,’ said another.    

Rainforest Cafe changes its name

The popular rainforest-themed restaurant loves a little April Fools Day fun.

Last year, the restaurant went viral for its post about a rooftop location at the top of the Empire State Building.

This year, the brand posted on Instagram (@rainforest_cafe) about a name change.

‘BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: Rainforest Cafe is ditching the rain and will now henceforth be known as Forest Cafe!’ the caption read.

‘After decades of thunderstorms breaking out every 30 minutes during meals, we’ve decided to make a change: Our dining rooms are officially going DRY!⁣

⁣’No more indoor rainstorms⁣. No more thunder and lightning⁣ Permanent sunshine, all day every day⁣.

⁣’Guests have spoken, and we hear you! Our reoccurring storms are scary and unnecessary. So, enjoy a wild experience without the unexpected downpours.⁣ You’re welcome.’

They posted a picture of the restaurant with no roof and the bright sun beaming through.

People were immediately upset – until they realized what day it was.

‘I forgot what day it was and almost lost my cool,’ someone wrote.

‘I almost died until I remembered it was April Fool’s,’ another said.

‘I literally almost just cried at 6.18 in the morning,’ a third commented.    

Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans in the Chicago river

Harry Potter decided to add a little bit of magic to the comedic holiday.

The brand posted two posts on Instagram to promote their new Harry Potter Shop opening in Chicago on April 10.

It posted on Monday, asking if anyone had ‘seen this bean’ – featuring a missing poster of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Bean saying it was orange and red and tasted like vomit.

The poster said it was last seen floating down the Chicago River.

On April Fools, the account posted another set of photos, this time featuring multiple different beans floating down the river. 

‘There’s no magic in these snaps… giant Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans are floating in the Chicago River!’ the caption read.

‘Head to the River beneath the Michigan Avenue Bridge to see them before they float away at 6pm this evening. Remember to tag us in your photos!’

The kicker? This April Fool’s stunt was very much real.

Boxes of the infamous jelly beans were passed out on the peer for anyone willing to eat the wild flavors, per Block Club Chicago.

It also featured the Bertie Bott’s box leaning against the rails, as if it was poured into the water.

Go-kart track at Hudson Yards

Hudson Yards also wanted in on the fun and posted a realistic photo of a go-kart track near the Vessel.

‘Burn some rubber and put your driving to the test on the new go-kart track at Hudson Yards. The track opens this summer. Must be 15 and up,’ the caption read on its Instagram post (@hudsonyards).

A few spaces down, the caption concluded with: ‘Happy April Fool’s Day! Did we getcha?’

People in the comments thought it was a great idea.

‘Oh my God, I got so excited!!’ someone wrote.

‘Nah, that’s so mean. I was so excited,’ shared another. 

A user asked: ‘Obviously a joke, but can we make it a reality somehow?’ 

Red wine stain-inspired furniture

Josh Wines teamed up with Joss and Main to make a stain-inspired prank. 

The accounts posted a cream couch and chair with red circles on Instagram.

The circles were supposed to mirror the ring a wine glass can leave on surfaces and stains.

‘Turn “oops” into “ooh la la” with @joshcellars x @jossandmain’s newest collection. Perfect for the wine lover in your life,’ the post’s caption read.

One user commented: ‘April fools! You guys got me.’  

Tic Tac x Dr. Pepper

The two popular brands teamed up to make something everyone was excited about- – Dr. Pepper-flavored Tic Tacs.

Tic Tac posted a picture of their signature package with tiny Dr. Pepper cans inside on Instagram.

Dr. Pepper commented on the post, writing: ‘you rang?’   

People were desperate for the brands to do a real collab as one wrote: ‘Not a want, but a need.’

‘Yeahhh, imma need some of these,’ another shared.

‘My two fave things in one?!’ a third commented.    

Reese’s chocolate bread

Reese also participated in the holiday, posting a short video about a new Chocolatey Bread.

‘Introducing, Reese’s PB&J sandwich. Oh, we’re bread serious,’ the text read in the video posted on Instagram.

The video showed a sandwich made out of their Creamy Reese’s Peanut Butter and jelly, bookended with their new chocolate bread.

A few people were hoping the prank was a reality.

‘Cool prank, but that would be nice to try and review,’ someone wrote.

‘If this isn’t real, I’m going to cry,’ another said.

A user added: ‘I really wish it wasn’t an April Fool’s prank.’

Silent CRUNCH bar

The popular candy bar took a playful approach to their prank.

CRUNCH is known for its well, crunchy, bite and snap.

However, this year, the company teased that they made the first-ever silent bar.  

How did they do it? Simple. They cooked the rice. 

‘APRIL FOOLS! It wasn’t easy, but we did it. The first-ever silent CRUNCH bar is coming soon. Because not all heroes wear capes — some just cook their rice first. Would you try it?’ the caption read.

They also posted a video depicting how they managed to make a silent bar.

It started with someone snapping the classic CRUNCH bar and acknowledging the sound.

Then someone placed the whole bar into a rice cooker and steamed it.

It came out of the cooker quiet as ever.

‘Introducing our quietest CRUNCH bar ever. Made with boiled white rice for 75% less noise,’ part of the video read.

One person was shocked, writing: ‘CRUNCH without the crunch?!’

Duolingo World Cruise with Carnival Cruise Line 

This hilarious prank featured a collab with Duolingo and Carnival Cruises.

They posted a video about a five-year – yes, five-year – long cruise where you can enjoy visiting the world and learning languages simultaneously.

The kick is, you need to keep up your streak the whole time or, ‘the owl will deny you the knowledge of eternal peace.’

In the video, employees wore Duo heads and the boat offered merch featuring the iconic owl.

‘Sail across seven continents, explore 195 countries, and learn over 40 languages — all while enjoying premium dining and entertainment.

Carnival commented, writing: ‘We are SO ready to set sail!!’

Many big brands commented on the hilarious post.

‘Owl aboard! Meet you at our place for quick passport photos,’ Staples wrote.

‘Would book this so fast,’ shared UNO.

Nyx cosmetics added: ‘I know this is a joke but this would be iconic.’ 

Mood-matching Lingerie 

Journelle, a lingerie company, also joined the fun by announcing the release of Mood-Matching lingerie on its Instagram Stories.

‘Meet our new mood-matching set that changes color based on your vibe,’ the post read.

Orange was bashful, purple was flirty, pink was fiery, and yellow was playful.

If you click on the link in the next Stories post, it directs you to a message on the website.

‘April fools! We’re sorry to get your hopes up! We haven’t yet found the perfect magical mood color-changing lace for your lingerie drawer,’ it read.

Public intimacy pods 

Maude, a wellness brand focused on personal intimacy, and the Museum of Sex teamed up to trick people across the US.

The pair posted about public intimacy pods on Instagram.

‘In Partnership with Museum of Sex, Maude Launches Intimacy Pods: A New Private Retreat in Public,’ the fake article read in the post.

It featured pictures of small green pods in Times Square, New York, Flatiron, New York, and South Beach Miami.

They have a cozy bed with a lamp and curtains as well as a signature item from Mauve. 

‘First come, first serve,’ the caption read.

‘Introducing intimacy pods — private spaces designed for mood-setting, connection, and a moment to get in touch with yourself (or someone else). 

‘Now available in Miami Beach and New York City, these discreet urban retreats offer a space to unwind, complete with Maude’s signature body care and mood-enhancing essentials.

‘In partnership with the Museum of Sex, the launch of the intimacy pods coincides with Modern Sex: 100 Years of Design and Decency, an exhibit currently on display at Museum of Sex Miami, co-curated by @dakotajohnson and @evagoicochea.

People on Instagram found the concept hilarious.

”Getting a room’ just got a lot more cozy and chic,’ someone wrote.

‘So Chic! So fun! Love this initiative! Another brilliant idea flawlessly executed!!’ another shared. 

‘Absolutely incredible idea,’ a third commented. 

Sleep in the Statue of Liberty

An account that features fun things to do in New York posted about a shocking experience offered by none other than Lady Liberty herself.    

What Should We Do posted a picture of a sunlit bedroom inside the crown of Lady Liberty, looking over Manhattan.
