Prince Harry has long held the reputation for being the ‘resident joker’ of the Royal Family.
Before he stepped down as a working royal and moved to California, the Duke of Sussex, 40, would go to great lengths to lighten the mood at official events.
So it is no wonder he also knows just what button to press to make Meghan, 43, crumble into fits of laughter.
Footage of the Commonwealth Day Service at Westminster Abbey in 2018 shows the Sussexes enjoying a rousing performance by Liam Payne.
The former One Direction star, who died last year after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina, was accompanied by two acoustic guitarists as he sang the John Mayer hit Waiting on the World to Change.
Clearly pleased with his performance, the Wolverhampton-born popstar turned to his band and fist-bumped them, later tweeting that it was ‘such an honour’ to perform in front of the Royal Family.
The service also marked a major milestone for Meghan as it was the first time the American actress had taken part in an official event with the Queen.
With the pressure on, she sat stoney-faced throughout the two-hour-long service until Harry took the applause for Liam as a chance to make her smile.

After seeing his facial expression, Meghan collapses and giggles into her chest
Ever the jokester, the prince caught his bride-to-be’s attention and subtly raised his eyebrows.
The simple gesture caused Meghan to collapse into hysterics and giggle into her chest.
The loved-up couple, who were engaged at the time, sat in the row behind Prince William and Princess Catherine.
Meghan looked spectacular in a navy dress with a cream coat by British designer Amanda Wakeley while Harry opted for a navy suit and plum-coloured tie.
It was not the first time the couple have made each other laugh in public – and it will certainly not be the last.
Although Harry was late, Meghan recalled how even on their first date at Soho House in July 2016 they ‘giggled endlessly’.
‘He was just so fun, just so refreshingly fun,’ the duchess said in their revelatory Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. ‘And that was the thing. We were like childlike together.’
Harry had not lost his ability to make Meghan laugh by the time their royal wedding rolled around in May 2018.

Nearly two billion people tuned in to watch the pair tie the knot at St George’s Chapel.
But as their open-top carriage finally pulled away from the crowds, one lip-reading expert suggested Harry took advantage of the moment of calm.
He reportedly said: ‘I’m ready for a drink now’ to which Meghan erupted into fits of giggles.
Three years on and Meghan was not sick of her husband’s humour, as evident in her 40th-birthday video in 2021.
The prince featured in the ‘bloopers’ montage towards the end of the footage, where he could be seen standing outside looking into the room through a window.
As his wife attempts to talk about a campaign to get women back to work, the duke begins to juggle three balls before dropping them on the ground.
He tries again but with two balls, and flashes a cheeky grin at his wife before disappearing.
Meghan appears surprised and asks, ‘What the?’ before laughing at her husband while Hollywood star Melissa McCarthy also chuckles.

Hours before the launch of Harry and Meghan’s explosive Netflix series in December 2022, the loved-up pair spoke onstage at the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights (RFKHR) Ripple of Hope Gala at the New York Hilton hotel.
To lighten the mood, Harry joked he thought he was taking his wife on a ‘date night’.
Onstage with RFKHR president Kerry Kennedy, Harry said: ‘I’ll be honest with you Kerry I just thought we were just going on a date night so I found it quite weird that we’re sharing the room with 1,500 people.
‘We don’t get out much these days because our kids are so small and young, so this is completely unexpected.’
To laughter from the audience, he added: ‘But it’s nice to share date night with all of you, so thank you for coming.’
Meghan quipped: ‘Thank you for bringing me on this very special date night.’
‘You’re welcome,’ Harry said.
And at the Invictus Games this year, the Duke of Sussex showed off his cheeky side once again.

After being asked to sing by Harry, the duchess shook her head laughing as the crowd whooped and clapped
Making a speech at the welcome celebration in Whistler, Canada, he thanked the crowd for showing their support before dragging his wife on stage.

Caught off guard, the duchess shook her head laughing as the lively crowd whooped and clapped in a bid to persuade her to perform.
Thankfully, unlike Queen Victoria, Meghan was most certainly amused.
