Queen Letizia cut a stylish figure as she joined husband King Felipe VI in kicking off the first Qatari Royal state visit to Spain since 2011.
The royal couple held a spectacular reception ceremony to honour the arrival of Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani in Madrid.
Mother-of-two Letizia, 49, donned a floral embellished white dress from Carolina Herrera with slingback shoes from Spanish brand Magrit, while Felipe, 54, appeared equally polished for the start of the two-day visit in a black suit.
The visit from the Qatari royals comes more than ten years since then Emir Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and his wife Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser, who are parents of the current ruler, officially visited Spain after being invited by Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía.

The Spanish royals appeared in good spirits as they embraced the Qatari royals for the start of the two-day visit
Today, Letizia teamed her summery outfit with beautiful hoop earrings from Bulgari and a statement ring.
She completed the look by styling her glossy brunette hair with a neat centre-parting and keeping her make-up relatively natural.
Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani looked equally glamorous wearing head-to-toe neutral colours accessorized with a striking pearl necklace and drop earrings.
The Qatari royal wore her hair in voluminous curls and opted for a bold plum coloured lipstick, as she stood alongside her dapper husband.

King Felipe held a meeting with Emir of the State of Qatar after the official reception took place at the Royal Palace in Madrid
The couple, who had the opportunity to meet authorities and received military honours today, are staying at El Pardo Royal Palace throughout their visit.
The honoury ceremony included reviewing the battalion of honours of the Royal Guard accompanied by the Chief of the Defence Staff, the Chief of the Military Quarter of the House of His Majesty the King and the Chief of the battalion.
The Qatari royal couple joined Letizia and Felipe at the Genoa Hall for a short briefing, before going to the Palacio de La Zarzuela where King Felipe held a meeting with Emir of the State of Qatar followed by a lunch with Queen Letizia and the Sheikha.

The Spanish royals are expected to host a gala dinner at the Royal Palace of Madrid this evening to further honour Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Jawaher bint Hamad bin Suhaim Al-Thani.
Both couples appeared in good spirits despite their busy schedules.
King Felipe travelled to the Middle East less than a week ago to convey his condolences to the new president of the United Arab Emirates on the death of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed al Nahyan.
Following the Qatari state visit, he and Letizia have a busy week ahead including the first Hispano-Arabic Forum of Audiovisual Public Service, organised by RTVE with the aim of strengthening and establishing ties with the Arab community.
