Chris Sutton has revealed his top five last-minute goals after Amad Diallo’s 121st minute winner for Manchester United against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final.

Diallo struck in the dying seconds of the match to secure a 4-3 extra time victory at Old Trafford.

The Ivorian was sent off after removing his shirt in the ensuing celebrations, resulting in a second yellow card.

Here are Sutton’s choices.

5. Chris Sutton – CELTIC 1-0 Rangers – May 2004

Sutton said: I’m going to put myself in here, is that OK?

‘I scored for Celtic 2003-04 season on the 8th of May, my son Ollie’s birthday. We’d beaten Rangers every game that season.

‘A good Rangers team back then, 92 minutes on the clock. It wasn’t the best of games and I ended up chipping Stefan Klos from – it always gets further out – 35 yards in the end to win the game.

‘It was called the green and whitewash season because we’d beaten them every game. A wonderful goal from me.’

4. Stan Collymore – LIVERPOOL 4-3 Newcastle – April 1996

‘At number four, Stan Collymore, Liverpool and Newcastle, [leaving] Kevin Keegan slumped. I think that was 92 minutes on the clock,’ Sutton said.

‘Such a watchable team, Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle were with [David] Ginola, [Faustino] Asprilla, [Les] Ferdinand all out attack, Liverpool had great players as well.

‘Collymore was the goal which did for Kevin Keegan and his team that season, brilliant game.’

3. Nwankwo Kanu – Chelsea 2-3 ARSENAL – October 1999

Sutton said: ‘At number three, I played in this game as well for Chelsea believe it or not.’

‘Chelsea were 2-0 up at home to Arsenal, [a match with] a strong rivalry.

‘Kanu scored a hat-trick and his last goal from a really narrow angle over on the byline, a brilliant finish.

‘I didn’t like the result because I was playing for Chelsea at the time but that was real drama, I think there was like a monsoon, it tipped down at Stamford Bridge.

‘That was memorable for the wrong reasons but a brilliant hat-trick from Kanu.’

2. Sergio Aguero – MAN CITY 3-2 QPR – May 2012

‘At number two the Aguero moment, [after Man City were] two down against QPR,’ Sutton said.

‘Aguero’s goal is etched in Premier League history.

‘A brilliant finish and brilliant comeback, a great team they were.’

1. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – MAN UNITED 2-1 Bayern Munich – May 1999

‘At number one, the greatest last-minute goal would be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,’ Sutton said.

‘The best team which I think I’ve ever seen, that Manchester United team, they always had that resolve to go to the end and were famous for Fergie-time goals.

‘Sheringham first, but then the Solskjaer winner in Barcelona against Bayern Munich, that would be the greatest ever last-minute goal.’
