Rangers' draft options if they hold onto No. 12 pick

The main focus of interest around the Rangers concerning the upcoming draft is whether they will retain the 12th overall pick. With the deadline on June 25 approaching, general manager Chris Drury must decide whether to send this year’s pick or next year’s to Pittsburgh to fulfill the J.T. Miller trade.

This scenario has dominated discussions, leaving little room to consider who the Rangers might draft if they keep the pick. Retaining the pick would suggest Drury’s confidence that the team next year won’t be in the lottery, minimizing the risk of forgoing a better selection.

Though the 2026 draft is seen as deeper than this year’s edition, if the Rangers do pick, there will be plenty of good options at No. 12.

Here are some of players Drury could look at there if he hangs onto the pick.
