In a recent appearance on CNN’s “The Arena,” Representative Debbie Dingell from Michigan emphasized that merely opposing former President Donald Trump won’t be sufficient for Democrats as they approach the upcoming midterm elections.
Representative Dingell highlighted that voters will be looking for more than just an anti-Trump stance as they consider their choices for the 2026 midterms and the 2028 presidential race.
During the program, host Jim Sciutto remarked, “You’ve been advocating for Democrats to develop a ‘Project 2028’ to clarify their agenda. Did you find any of those ideas in the recent speech by Mamdani?”
To this, Dingell responded, “Yes, I did. It’s crucial that we move beyond just being anti-Trump. Voters want to understand what we stand for and how we intend to deliver on our promises. It’s essential for us to clearly communicate our goals as we head into the 2026 congressional elections, and presidential hopefuls will need to present strong and clear platforms.”
