Heather Gay claimed the body positivity movement is ‘all a big lie’ and slammed critics of controversial weight loss drugs like Ozempic.

In an Impact x Nightline segment released on Friday, the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star, 49, said that ‘it’s better to not be overweight’ as people still get treated better and feel better when they are thin.

She said that she has ‘given up’ on the body positivity mentality and now embraces Ozempic and other weight loss medications.

‘I’ve sold out,’ the reality TV personality — who has an unrecognizable ‘new face’, according to fans, after she admitted to using the weight loss diabetes drug late last year — said. ‘I’ve given up the banner of, you know, accept yourself.

‘And it’s disappointing and sad to know that body positivity was all a big lie,’ she continued about once representing body positivity for many fans, before adding that ‘it is better not to be overweight.’

The entrepreneur also admitted that she did not want to compare herself to other people and ‘be resentful’.

‘I didn’t want to show up at another party and see all of my friends 20 pounds thinner and just be resentful,’ she said.

Two months earlier, Gay opened up and confirmed she had started taking Ozempic.

‘Everyone I knew was taking these GLP-1 medications, losing weight and just bragging about how great it was and magical,’ she said.

In her experience, she said that the weight loss drug has improved her life and she has never been happier.

Once she started losing weight, she said she noticed people, including her Bravo co-stars, being nicer to her.

‘For the first time, I was being valued by my castmates, by the public, in a way that I had never been valued before,’ she said. ‘And that felt to me sad.’

When asked about how her co-star Mary Cosby previously body shamed her over her Gucci outfit, Gay agreed it was ‘cutting’ but said she has been called worse.

Before she begin her weight loss journey, she recalled some hurtful insults she heard in the past from both her co-stars and the public.

She said she was called ‘a manatee’, ‘Shrek’ and just ‘horrible things’.

After revealing she lost over 20 pounds using Ozempic, she said she has also noticed a mental transformation as her self-confidence boosted.

‘I have transitioned from accepting myself, to feeling powerless against food and weight, and to accepting myself as someone that needs medical intervention in order to maintain a weight that feels healthy and positive for me.’

A premiere date for season five of RHOSLC has yet to be announced, and the cast has not yet been confirmed.
