A blaze erupted in Manhattan on Tuesday, coinciding with St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) received an alert about a rooftop fire at 6 E43rd Street, as reported by Fox News.
Sharing a dramatic video of smoke rising into the sky, FDNY posted on X, “The FDNY is responding to a fire on East 43rd Street in Manhattan.”

In addition, the FDNY re-shared a notification from the city’s emergency alert system, advising, “@FDNY Activity: Anticipate traffic jams, road closures, disruptions in mass transit, and emergency personnel presence near East 43rd Street & Madison Avenue, Manhattan. Please consider alternate routes.”
Kevin Gordon, who leads macro research and strategy at Schwab Center for Financial Research, uploaded a photo of the dense smoke on X, expressing concern, “Quite the scene this morning on 43rd Street in Midtown Manhattan … really hope everyone is alright.”
