Harry Maguire announces Man United FIRE SALE - with a warning to his team-mates - while Bruno Fernandes is 'seriously considering' £100m exit to Saudi Arabia

Harry Maguire has given a haunting forecast for Manchester United’s summer, insisting ‘a lot of players’ will be shown the door.

The Old Trafford stalwart says he ‘hopes’ lots of fresh faces join in an admission that Ruben Amorim’s squad needs to be gutted and reformed.

Manchester United are approaching the transfer market following their poorest performance in the Premier League era and have been humiliated during their Asian tour. The club faces the possibility of losing crucial players, including their influential captain, Bruno Fernandes.

Maguire was in the starting lineup during a 1-0 defeat in Malaysia against the ASEAN All-Stars, a side composed of players from various Asian countries and leagues.

United also traveled to Mumbai, where Maguire participated in street football with local children. They hope to redeem their tour with a match against the Hong Kong national team on Friday.

‘We will make a lot of changes in the summer at the club,’ Maguire promised.

‘There will be a lot of players who leave and hopefully a lot of players will come in.

‘And that’s down to the club to make sure they get that right and it’s down to us players to make sure that we are the ones that are involved.’

Maguire is right that nobody is safe.

It has already been confirmed that Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans will leave as free agents on June 30.

Given that Amorim’s system typically neglects wingers, this summer could spell the end for all of Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony.

Garnacho is almost certain to leave after Amorim told him to ‘pray that you can find a club to sign you,’ as Mail Sport exclusively revealed. Garnacho, who only played 20 minutes in the Europa League final and branded their season ‘s***’, has cut a glum figure on the tour.

Manchester United’s financial situation means that the club are likely to consider compelling offers for any of their stars, even ones they would dearly like to hold on to such as Diogo Dalot and Leny Yoro.

Even talisman Fernandes could exit with a host of Saudi Arabian riyals offered as potential new clubs this summer after another impressive season on an individual level.

His agent Miguel Pinho held face-to-face talks with Al-Hilal chiefs on Thursday night and the Saudi club are willing to give him a package worth around £200million across three seasons including bonuses.

They are prepared to effectively quadruple Fernandes’ salary of £280,000-a-week by increasing it to £700,000 tax-free.

This meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel was an intriguing twist given that Al-Hilal gave Fernandes 72 hours to decide his future on Monday.

If he agrees, the club are ready to issue the paperwork on a contract worth around £65m-a-season and make a formal approach to United with a bid in the region of £100m.

United sources have re-iterated that they do not want to sell their best player, but the club are under even greater financial pressure after defeat by Tottenham in the Europa League final cost them potentially more than £100m in Champions League revenue.

Fernandes admitted after the game that he could be sold to balance the books, saying: ‘If the club thinks it’s time to part ways because they want to do some cashing in, it is what it is.’

Matheus Cunha, in other news, is set to be the first arrival at Old Trafford this summer.

United have agreed to pay Cunha’s £62.5m release clause in three instalments over the next two years.

Meanwhile, they are reportedly in talks to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a swap deal for Rasmus Hojlund plus £33.5m.

Amorim appeared fuming after watching his side succumb to ASEAN All-Stars in the Malaysian heat, saying: ‘We don’t have it in us not to choke in every exercise, in every game, that is what happened.

‘We should win these kind of games, no matter what. We need to bring that inside of us in every game.

‘The important thing is no injuries with this weather and to arrive here in this day. It is not an excuse, we should perform better.’

Manchester United did use 27 players in the game, including a lot of youngsters, but their starting line-up still consisted mostly of first-team stars.
