Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is “recovering well” after being discharged from the hospital following a car crash in New Hampshire, according to his business associate who spoke to Fox News Digital on Tuesday.

Ted Goodman shared this update as the New Hampshire State Police continue their investigation into the accident that occurred on Saturday night on Interstate 93 in Manchester.

“Mayor Giuliani is recovering well after a car accident where his vehicle was hit from behind. The incident happened right after the mayor and I stopped to help someone in urgent need,” Goodman stated.

“He has now been discharged from the hospital and sincerely appreciates all the love, well wishes, and prayers he has received. The mayor also wants to thank the New Hampshire State Police, paramedics, Elliot Hospital, and all the doctors and nurses who provided him with outstanding care,” Goodman added.

Authorities also mentioned that “the driver who hit Goodman and Giuliani was not connected to the initial domestic violence incident,” and they are still investigating all aspects of the accident, including whether distraction or curiosity related to the initial situation contributed to the crash.

Giuliani was reported to be in “good spirits and recovering tremendously,” according to his spokesman and head of security Michael Ragusa, who spoke to Fox News Digital after the incident.

New Hampshire State Police identified the vehicles as a Honda HR-V and a Ford Bronco. Giuliani was riding as a passenger in the Bronco. Police said the Honda struck the back of the Bronco.

Giuliani was officially diagnosed with “a fractured thoracic vertebrae,” multiple lacerations and contusions and injuries to his left arm and lower leg, Ragusa said.
