ABC TV Station in Sacramento Hit by Gunfire, One Day After Protest Over Kimmel Suspension
Share this @internewscast.com

We’ve been reporting on the uproar from the left regarding the halt of Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Kimmel had commented on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” suggesting the suspect in Charlie Kirk’s killing was linked to MAGA, and asserted that MAGA was attempting to exploit Kirk’s murder.

ABC “indefinitely preempted” Kimmel’s show on Wednesday, when many of their affiliate stations decided not to run the show.

Those on the left erupted, accusing President Donald Trump of stifling free speech. Their outrage over Kimmel’s suspension seemed to surpass their concern for Charlie Kirk’s killing. However, the decision-makers withdrew the show out of fear that Kimmel would further antagonize MAGA in his upcoming episode.

Some were displeased and expressed their disapproval by demonstrating at ABC TV stations, including one in Sacramento, California, on Thursday. Protestors carried signs, with messages branding Trump as “Hitler” and a “fascist enabler,” and argued “free speech is a right.” They seemed to overlook that private corporations, indeed, have the authority to cancel a show without infringing free speech rights.

Now, just one day later, there’s been a drive-by shooting through a station window that faces the street.

At least three shots were discharged, but fortunately, there were no injuries as the building was empty at the time, according to police.

Officer Anthony Gamble of the Sacramento Police Department stated, ‘We haven’t dealt with many attacks on our media allies, and we aim to maintain that.’

He added, ‘To those responsible, and I hope you’re watching, we won’t stop searching for you. This behavior is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated in Sacramento.’

The gunfire was reported around 1:30 p.m., just 24 hours after around 15 people gathered outside ABC10 (KXTV) to protest the suspension of Kimmel.  [….]

‘All of our employees are safe and unharmed,’ Tegna, KXTV’s parent company, spokesperson Molly McMahon said.

The station said they were fully cooperating with police, and taking “additional measures” to ensure the safety of their employees.

Police don’t know yet whether it was random or targeted, or if it was related to the Kimmel controversy. There’s been no information on a suspect yet.

As we reported earlier, some on the left have been calling for a boycott of ABC and Disney.

Here’s Another Big Thing That May Have Factored Into the Kimmel Suspension

I don’t know what the boycotters think they can achieve with this. But the ratings have already been a big indication that people don’t care for the show. And ultimately, it’s always about a business decision.
