In the heart of Los Angeles, PaleyFest continues to shine a spotlight on beloved television series, with its latest event paying tribute to a cherished comedic gem.
The iconic cast of “Scrubs” reunited at the prestigious Dolby Theatre for a special evening that featured a screening and a question-and-answer session dedicated to the show’s recent revival. This marked a significant return for the actors who originally brought the series to life during its initial run from 2001 to 2010.
Returning to their roles are Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley, all of whom are back on screen as the series enters its 10th season on ABC. The narrative resumes years after the original conclusion, offering fans a chance to reconnect with their favorite characters.
The Q&A session was expertly guided by Vanessa Bayer, who joins the cast as Sibby Wilson in the latest season. Her engaging moderation allowed the cast to explore the series’ enduring charm and share insights with an eagerly attentive audience.
In a conversation with On The Red Carpet, the cast delved into what continues to captivate audiences about “Scrubs.” Zach Braff reflected, “It’s a show about friendship and community, and I think people really respond to that when it’s written well because everyone is longing for community and friendship.”

For Chalke, it was the real-life stories from doctors that left the biggest impact.
“The funnest thing for all of us was hearing from doctors who would write to us and say, ‘Oh my gosh, the show got us through medical school, or got us through really hard times,’ or there was a specific episode they would mention about losing a patient that was helpful to them,” she said.
As new episodes roll out, Reyes made it clear the love for the show has grown!
“A lot of shows have been inspired by it, and we come back and the reception has been even bigger than the first one,” she said.
New episodes of “Scrubs” air Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC and streams next day on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu, Disney+ and this ABC station.
