Sean “Diddy” Combs is considering serving his prison sentence at Fort Dix due to its drug treatment program, as mentioned in a letter from his legal representative.
His attorneys asked Judge Arun Subramanian to recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Combs be sent to FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey.
“To effectively tackle issues of drug abuse and enhance family visits along with rehabilitative efforts, we urge the Court to strongly recommend to the Bureau of Prisons that Mr. Combs be assigned to FCI Fort Dix for the RDAP program and other offered educational and occupational initiatives,” stated defense attorney Teny Geragos in a letter sent on Monday.
RDAP, Residential Drug Abuse Program, is the Bureau’s most intensive treatment program.
Fort Dix is a low security prison with about 4,000 inmates.
This request by Combs’ attorneys follows only days after he was sentenced to more than four years in prison, having been found guilty by a jury in July on two counts related to transportation for prostitution.
He gets credit for time served since his arrest. Combs has already spent 12 months at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
