The Seattle teenager who killed a mom and three children while driving at ‘NASCAR’ speeds of 112mph is set to receive a disgustingly light sentence as part of a lenient plea deal. 

Chase Jones, who was 18 at the time of the tragedy, pleaded guilty to four counts of vehicular homicide and two counts of vehicular assault after crashing into another vehicle. 

Jones’ guilty plea was entered before his sentencing, scheduled for April 25, where a judge will determine his sentence of just 17.5 to 23.3 years. 

Jones ran a red light and collided with a van on March 19, 2024, resulting in the deaths of Andrea S Hudson, 38, Boyd ‘Buster’ Brown, 12, and sisters Matilda Wilcoxson, 13, and Eloise Wilcoxson, 12. 

Hudson’s two children, Nolan and Charlotte Hudson, were also in the van at the time, sustaining severe injuries but miraculously survived. 

‘The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office would not have accepted anything less than a guilty plea as charged on all felony counts,’ said King County Prosecuting Attorney Leesa Manion. 

Jones had originally pled not guilty while appearing via video-link as he recovered from the crash in the hospital. 

The teen sped through the Seattle suburb in his 2015 Audi A4 before colliding with the van around 12:45 pm.

Shocking video footage showed the speed at which his car collided with the van, as it raced across the intersection and slammed into the vehicle.  

Court documents stated that the victims were ‘immediately killed’ by the ‘incredibly violent collision.’ 

One year later, daffodils grow at the site of the deadly crash after it left a lasting bruise on the community. 

A memorial sign reads, ‘Let your light B.E.A.M,’ representing the first initials of the four victims. 

Theodore Smith, Hudson’s father, told KOMO News: ‘This was the result of a compulsive speeder, so intent on getting his thrills that he would risk his own life, and worse, risk the lives of others.’ 

Jones’ plea agreement includes him to require a speed-limiting device should he ever get behind the wheel again in the future. 

The victims’ families appeared in court within the past year, including the mother to the Wilcoxson sisters. 

‘I’m a little concerned and shocked that there has been, to my knowledge, no attempt to reach out to us with any kind of message of sympathy or regret,’ Rivka Wilcoxson said in court last year.

The horrific crash was the end of Jones’ speeding that day, which led to a multi-car pile-up before the collision. 

It was also not his first time racing at such speeds, as prosecutors pointed out. 

‘There is evidence that this defendant has been driving at an excessive speed and totaled two vehicles before this collision,’ Senior Deputy Attorney Amy J. Freedheim told the court.

Jones admitted to an officer in May 2023 that he was ‘definitely going above the speed limit of 25,’ and estimated his speed to have reached ’40 or 50.’

A KPD Officer was heard saying, ‘He told me he was speeding down the street… that dude was hauling.’ 

The officer let him off with a warning and spoke to his parents before leaving the scene. 

‘It’s a mistake, mistakes happen. Lessons need to be learned, as long as you learn it,’ the cop said.

The next crash happened in January, where another driver said Jones was traveling at such a high speed, he did not even see him coming, according to KOMO.

Matilda and Eloise’s mother, Rivka, wrote on Facebook in April following the crash: ‘Each of the people killed that day were amazing examples of love. I want to honor each of them. I do not want their lives, or their deaths, contaminated by hate or anger’

The deadly crash that left a community heartbroken has prompted the families to urge lawmakers to pass House Bill 1596, which would require repeat speeding offenders to have speed-limiting devices installed in their cars if they wish to continue driving

Jones bought an Audi a month before the deadly crash, and after he totaled two other cars in the earlier wrecks.

Hudson, who led a homeschooling group, was driving the three children home when she passed through the intersection and was T-boned by Jones, according to court documents.

Andrea’s sister, Melanie Hanes, wrote on the anniversary of the crash this year: ‘Today marks a year since we lost our dear, sweet, funny Andrea! I still miss her like crazy and always will

‘I am so grateful to have Andrea as a sister. I will always cherish the 38 years I was able to spend with her learning to appreciate the beautiful world we live in, and the people in it! I am even more grateful to know I will see her again.’ 

Following the devastating crash, Buster’s mother, Jessica Brown wrote: ‘Our big-hearted Buster was a selfless, creative, soul who cared about others deeply. He loved his family, friends, and teachers. 

‘He loved to create beautiful things through ceramics, crochet, drawing, writing, origami, and through his musical talents. Buster had a special relationship with all of his siblings but especially his brother Warner.’ 

Matilda and Eloise’s mother, Rivka, wrote on Facebook in April following the crash: ‘Each of the people killed that day were amazing examples of love. I want to honor each of them. I do not want their lives, or their deaths, contaminated by hate or anger. 

‘I want their deaths to be the impetus for change in the hearts of those in our community, and beyond. I want something good to come from something so terrible.’

‘Matilda, like the others, would have been the first to lay down hate and anger. She holds no grudges. I ask that each of you do the same for those who caused this terrible tragedy. But more so, I ask each of you to give Matilda the birthday gift of extending that love and forgiveness as far as you can reach… Happy birthday Til-bug! I love you.’ 

In October, she wrote: ‘Oh, my Eloise. You have been such a gift and a teacher to me. My longing for you can’t be spoken. Nor my pride. Nor my joy at the thought of being with you again, in the sweet by and by. Happy birthday, my girl.’
