Selena Gomez marries Benny Blanco in star-studded ceremony

We can’t calm down.

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco officially said “I do” in an intimate wedding ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The star-studded event featured Taylor Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce, along with Gomez’s “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars, Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Ashley Park.

Meryl Streep, who appeared on the popular Hulu series and is also dating Short, was reportedly invited to the wedding but withdrew at the last moment, a source informed the Daily Mail.

The insider revealed that Streep had intended to attend but informed Selena she wouldn’t be able to make it. However, the precise reason for her absence wasn’t disclosed.

On the other hand, Gomez’s former close friend, Nicola Peltz, and her husband, Brooklyn Beckham, also wouldn’t be attending, as an insider mentioned to Page Six prior to the wedding.

Though speculations of a fallout existed, a source familiar with Peltz and Beckham clarified that the actress is engaged in “pre-production for a demanding film shoot.”

The joyful couple arranged for their wedding weekend guests to stay at the El Encanto hotel, Page Six confirmed. This luxury getaway is owned by Tinder co-founder Justin Mateen.

The rehearsal dinner was held on Friday, Sept. 26.

Gomez, 33, and Blanco, 37, got engaged in Dec. 2024 after dating for a year.

“Forever begins now,” Gomez captioned her Instagram post showing off her dazzling diamond engagement ring.

Blanco also commemorated the moment, commenting, “Hey wait… that’s my wife.”

Gomez celebrated her bachelorette trip in Aug. in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The “Wizards of Waverly Place” alum shared pics and video from the fun-filled getaway, and she was joined by longtime pals Raquelle Stevens, Ashley Cook and Courtney Lopez.

In March, the singer released her fourth studio album, “I Said I Love You First,” in collaboration with her fiancé.

A month prior, Blanco revealed that the surprise engagement almost didn’t go as planned.

“It was the sickest surprise that she had no idea about, and it couldn’t have come at a better time because I was starting to f–k up,” the producer said during a sit-down with Interview magazine in February.

“The thing that makes me so crazy is, you’re getting engaged, and right before, they’re like, ‘Show me how good of a liar you are. Sneak around and try to do this perfect thing without me knowing,’” he continued.

“At the end, she was starting to get upset because she was like, ‘Why aren’t you coming home tonight?’” Blanco added. “And I was like, ‘Oh, I’m just at my friends.’ I almost did it early. But I nailed it, I think.”

Gomez, meanwhile, chimed in about what it was like to work with the love of her life in the studio.

“The fact that he listened to me,” the Rare Beauty founder told the outlet about what she appreciated most about the process. “Sometimes it’s difficult for me to speak up. Most of my anxiety right now is wanting him to speak because I feel like he’s more talented than I am in this field.”

“It’s like working with a great filmmaker,” she continued. “Whether we were together or not, I think he still would’ve listened to everything that I had to say, and he was able to almost transcribe it into music, into what the feeling of what I was talking about should be.”

The “Only Murders in the Building” actress, for her part, told the outlet that their romance began when they “got in the studio to work on a song and we just talked.”

“That’s how easy it was for me,” Gomez recalled. “I liked him before he liked me.”

Blanco said that he “literally didn’t know” Gomez was interested in him.

“We were in the session, and I was like, ‘You should meet some of my friends. I can hook you up with some dates.’ I hadn’t thought about it at all,” he reminisced. “And then we were texting afterwards, and we decided to get dinner the next day.”

“I guess she thought it was a date, and I had no idea it was a date,” he laughed. “The second time we hung out, our second date, I was like, ‘Wait, does she like me?’ I was clueless.”

But following the date, “it was easy” for Blanco to take the next step.

“You know, when you think you’ve met the right person, you’re like, ‘Oh, my God.’ But it feels so different,” he gushed. “The second we started hanging out, I was like, ‘This is my wife.’ I was telling my mom, ‘This is the girl I’m going to marry.’”
