In a heartfelt union, Sen. Cory Booker and Alexis Lewis have exchanged vows, marking a new chapter in their lives together.

Embodying a blend of personal and political significance, the couple embarked on their marital journey with two intimate ceremonies. The first took place in Newark, New Jersey, a city that has played a pivotal role in Booker’s political life. On November 24th, at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Booker and Lewis, who holds a directorial position at Brasa Capital Management, committed to each other with their parents standing witness to their vows.

Just five days later, on November 29th, the celebrations continued in Washington, D.C., a city deeply connected to Lewis. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple sealed their union once more in a setting that resonates with Lewis’ roots.

The joyous news of their nuptials was shared with the world through matching Instagram posts, where the couple offered a glimpse into their special moments from both ceremonies. Their decision to marry in locations of personal significance underscores the meaningful ties that both Newark and Washington hold in their hearts.

A second celebration followed on Saturday, Nov. 29, in Washington, D.C., Lewis’ hometown, where the couple gathered again with loved ones.

Booker and Lewis announced the news of their wedding Sunday, sharing matching Instagram posts featuring photos from both ceremonies.

“Overflowing with gratitude. We said ‘I do’ in two places that shaped us — Cory’s beloved Newark and Alexis’s hometown of Washington, D.C. — first at the courthouse, then with our families,” they wrote. “Hearts full and so grateful.”

The New Jersey Democrat first announced their engagement in September, calling Lewis “one of the greatest unearned blessings of my life” in a social media post that included photos of their tropical proposal. “She has transformed me, helping me to ground and center my inner life, and discover the joys of building a nurturing home with someone you love.”

In October, on the “I’ve Had It podcast,” Booker said he was eager to get married, adding, “We’re going to do it before the end of the year, quick.”

Booker previously shared that the pair met through friends and had been together about a year and a half before going public with their relationship.
