AT least nine people have been injured in a shooting at a restaurant.
Gunshots rang out at a steakhouse in Arizona as revelers were celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
Shots were fired around 7:45pm local time and cops are now hunting for several shooters.
Witnesses spoke of the chaos that unfolded outside the restaurant.
“I heard people yelling out names,” Lupe Rodriguez told the CBS affiliate KPHO-TV.
Rodriguez claimed that there was a man on the ground.
“His father was yelling out his name,” he said.
“It was pretty bad.”
Rodriguez admitted he was shaken up following the horror.
Cops fear nine people could be injured.
The victims conditions remain unknown as investigations remain ongoing.
Police have not yet made any arrests.
And, they have not revealed a motive behind the shooting.
Cops sealed off the nearby area, but say there is no threat.
The Gun Violence Archive defines a mass shooting as an incident with at least four victims that have either been injured or killed.
There have been 97 mass shootings across the US this year, according to the organization.
On May 4, one person was killed and 15 were injured in a shooting in Houston.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and six others injured after shots were fired into a crowd in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The chilling events in Arizona occurred only weeks following the incident where Phoenix Ikner, 20, purportedly took the lives of two individuals and wounded six more by initiating a shooting at Florida State University’s campus in Tallahassee.
Ikner, the son of a cop, reportedly used one of his mom’s weapons to carry out the mass shooting.
Cinco de Mayo celebrations were held across the US over the weekend.
The festivities mark the Mexican army’s victory over French forces in the 1862 Battle of Puebla.
