3 Arrested in Brutal ‘Antisemitic’ Santana Row Assault on Israeli-Americans

Three men have been detained after surrendering to authorities in connection with a disturbing assault at a San Jose eatery. The attack left two Israeli-American individuals injured and has unsettled the local community.

The accused, identified as Ramon Akoyans, 18, Roma Akoyans, 20, and Bruneil Chamaki, 32, turned themselves in to San Jose police on Monday. This development comes about a week after the trio allegedly assaulted two men conversing in Hebrew outside Augustine, a restaurant situated on Santana Row.

The incident, which took place in broad daylight and is currently being investigated as a possible hate crime, was captured on video. The footage, which has since gone viral, shows three men in black T-shirts repeatedly attacking an individual on the ground, as reported by KTVU.

According to police statements last week, “The victims alleged that the suspects used antisemitic language during the altercation.”

Daniel Klein, CEO of Jewish Silicon Valley, recounted to KTVU, “While they were waiting for their table, the victims were suddenly approached by three individuals who knocked one of them unconscious. The attackers then collectively assaulted the second victim.” Both men involved are Israeli-American, with one reportedly losing consciousness during the assault.

San Jose Police Department addressed the community’s concerns on X, stating, “We understand the community’s alarm over this incident and appreciate the patience as investigators ensured a thorough and accurate handling of the case. Those responsible for this violent crime will face justice.”

The case remains active, and the San Jose PD is working with Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office. The DA’s office is expected to provide more details soon.
