In a tragic incident that has shaken the heart of Chicago, four individuals face charges following the fatal stabbing of a man in the Loop, according to statements released by the Chicago police on Tuesday. Among those charged is 23-year-old Samuel Alvarado Moreno, who now faces a felony count related to criminal damage to government property. A 14-year-old boy is charged with felony murder, while another 14-year-old faces charges of armed robbery. Additionally, a 16-year-old has been charged with both first-degree murder and felony mob action, reflecting the severity of the accusations leveled against him.

This distressing event unfolded early Sunday morning, as police discovered the victim unresponsive in the 200-block of South Wabash Avenue at approximately 7:20 a.m. Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, leaving the community grappling with the loss and the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Chicago police said the man was found unresponsive in the Loop’s 200-block of South Wabash Avenue around 7:20 a.m. Sunday.

The victim, who suffered an apparent puncture wound to his body, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

ABC7 has been told the victim was a man experiencing homelessness.

Chicago police have not released a motive in the attack.
