Concerning New Info in Nancy Guthrie Missing Person Case - Plus, a Ransom Note?

Shocking Developments in Nancy Guthrie Disappearance: Ransom Note Discovered?

On Monday, we explored the unsettling disappearance of 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, who vanished after being last seen in Catalina Foothills, Arizona. She was dropped off at her home by a family member between 9:30 and 9:45 p.m. on Saturday, marking the last known sighting of her.

Nancy Guthrie is notably the mother of Savannah Guthrie, the co-host of NBC News’ “Today Show.” This connection has brought heightened attention to the case, adding urgency to the search efforts.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has been clear from the outset about his belief that this is a case of abduction. He suggests that Mrs. Guthrie may have been taken from her bed as she slept, dismissing the possibility that she left voluntarily or wandered off. The family has emphasized her clear mental acuity, describing her as “sharp as a tack,” though she does face mobility challenges that necessitate the use of a cane. Additionally, she relies on medication critical to her health.

The sheriff has also expressed significant concern about the state of the scene, which he has labeled a “crime scene.” DNA samples are currently under analysis, following the involvement of homicide detectives. Nanos underscored the seriousness of the situation during an interview with MS NOW on Monday, stating, “It’s rare for me to call out our homicide team unless we have a body.”
