James Morgan, the spouse of Kim Delaney from “NYPD Blue,” was reportedly taken into custody Sunday night following multiple 911 calls about a family disturbance at their apartment complex near Los Angeles.
Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the Marina Del Rey location, where the couple resides, and arrested Morgan on charges of obstructing or delaying a public officer, according to information from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department shared with TMZ. Morgan remains in custody awaiting a court appearance scheduled for Tuesday, as reported by TMZ.
The relationship between Delaney and Morgan, who tied the knot in 2022, has reportedly been tumultuous. Delaney attempted to file for divorce merely six months after their marriage and sought a restraining order against Morgan. However, the process stalled as neither party appeared in court, according to Deadline.
Both Delaney, an Emmy-award-winning actress, and her husband have had previous run-ins with the law concerning domestic disturbances. Last year, Delaney faced felony assault charges for allegedly attempting to hit Morgan with a car, but the charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence. Morgan was also cleared of misdemeanor spousal battery charges related to the same incident, as reported by TMZ.
Delaney’s legal troubles extend beyond this, with a 2002 arrest for driving under the influence and a 2024 lawsuit from a motorcyclist who accused her of a hit-and-run incident.
The actress is celebrated for her Emmy-winning role as Detective Diane Russell on “NYPD Blue,” where she appeared as both a regular and a recurring character over the show’s 11-season duration. Additionally, she portrayed Jenny Gardner on “All My Children” and starred as Lieutenant Megan Donner in the inaugural season of “CSI: Miami.”
