An elderly woman from Seattle, aged 88, is recovering in the hospital after enduring a violent attack and robbery. The assailant, who police say bit off her finger and stole her jewelry, left her with severe injuries.
The incident took place on October 13th in the Rainier Beach area, specifically on the 9900 block of 64th Avenue South. The Seattle Police Department recently shared surveillance images of the suspect, believed to be in his 30s, in hopes of identifying him.
The attack occurred while the woman was on her back porch, attending to some cleaning tasks. The attacker approached her, demanding her possessions.

Despite her refusal, the man, still at large, reportedly “brutally assaulted” her and dragged her into her garage, as per the police report.
During this horrific encounter, he not only robbed her of her jewelry but also bit off her finger. The victim was subsequently admitted to the hospital with significant head injuries, according to the police statement.
“The man robbed the victim of her jewelry, and bit off her finger during the incident,” as noted in the release. “Doctors later admitted her into the hospital with serious injuries to her head.”

She was taken to Harborview Medical Center in “serious, but stable” condition, police said.

Seattle police, along with officers from Burien, Tukwila, and the King County Sheriff’s Office, searched the area for the suspect, but he remains at large, according to the news release.
