The footage reveals a shocking incident where a driver pulls over and sets a homeless woman on fire, then allegedly kicks the victim before swiftly escaping the scene.

The unsettling surveillance video shows the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jacqueline Popaibarra, driving her car onto a secluded street in South Sacramento on April 26. She halts beside a homeless encampment.

According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, Popaibarra exited her vehicle and engaged in a dispute with the 49-year-old homeless woman, who had just settled in to sleep for the night.

The homeless woman was taken to a hospital and intubated for several days, leaving her unable to speak or provide law enforcement with a statement, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

California police have arrested a woman after she set a homeless woman on fire, causing severe burn injuries, before kicking the injured victim and fleeing the scene in her car.
