What began as a probe into a fatal hit-and-run at a Florida trailer park over the weekend unfolded into an immigration raid when officers encountered six Guatemalan men residing in the U.S. unlawfully.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies were dispatched to the Willow Oak Mobile Home Park after receiving a 911 call early Sunday morning about a 21-year-old man found dead inside his residence.

Upon arrival and examination, law enforcement observed that the man’s (name not disclosed) injuries appeared to be “consistent with being struck by a vehicle.”

The department’s Traffic Unit launched an investigation into the man’s death, discovering that he had been run over in a driveway on Saturday night during a gathering at one of the trailers where “almost everyone” was consuming alcohol.

Cinto-Ramirez faces charges of resisting arrest, driving without a license resulting in death, and fleeing a crash scene that involved a fatality. All these charges are felonies.

Rigoberto Lopez Morales, 22, and Jacinto Lopez Morales, 46, were both charged with resisting arrest.

Alfredo Cinto-Ramirez, 48, and Leonel Cinto Lopez, 24, both face charges of resisting arrest and providing false information to law enforcement. Ramiro Cinto Lopez, 23, also faces these charges, along with possession of an altered firearm.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said all six men “are facing serious felonies” and are under Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) holds to “hopefully” be deported back to Guatemala.

“What started out as a neighborhood party ended up with a 21-year-old man dead and a group of illegal aliens going to jail,” Judd said.

Police have responded to reports involving “large gatherings” at the Willow Oak Mobile Home Park several times over the years, according to FOX 35 Orlando, but it was not stated if this specific group of people has been reported in the past.
