Palmdale Street shooting on Jacksonville's Northwest side leaves man dead

The injuries sustained by the victim are not life-threatening, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Tuesday evening, a man ended up in the hospital after being shot by his girlfriend’s son at a residence near Moncrief Road in Jacksonville, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

JSO Sergeant Richardson stated that officers were dispatched to the 5700 block of Carver Circle regarding a shooting incident that occurred around 10 p.m.

Sgt. Richardson explained that the man and his girlfriend were engaged in a “verbal altercation” before the shooting took place. After the argument, the girlfriend’s son confronted the man and fired several shots, hitting him twice in the chest.

Richardson confirmed that the man is suffering from injuries that are not life-threatening.

Richardson also noted that this was an isolated incident and that the suspect has been identified.
