A South Carolina man reportedly drove his vehicle deliberately into three individuals on Sullivan’s Island Thursday afternoon, as stated in an arrest affidavit accessed by Fox News Digital.

Justin Collin Adams is facing charges of three counts of attempted murder and one count of first-degree aggravated assault. He is accused of driving over a parent and two children in the parking area of Sunrise Presbyterian Church just prior to 1 p.m. on Thursday, according to court documents.

The affidavit regarding Adams states that the 36-year-old man forcibly took his mother’s vehicle at knifepoint, making threats to cut her face, before commandeering her car and accelerating it toward the school’s playground.

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, which has taken over the criminal investigation, did not return a comment request.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Charleston County Clerk of Court.

Fox News’ Alexandra Koch contributed to this report.
