A bomb threat led to the evacuation of a Spirit Airlines flight at Detroit Metropolitan Airport early Thursday morning, prompting a rapid response from law enforcement and delaying travel plans for passengers en route to Los Angeles.

According to FOX 2 Detroit, the threat was reported around 7 a.m. as passengers boarded Flight 2145 bound for Los Angeles.

“Law enforcement was requested to meet Spirit Airlines flight 2145 (DTW-LAX) prior to departure from Detroit (DTW) due to a potential security concern,” the statement said.

“The aircraft taxied to a remote area, and passengers were safely deplaned and taken back to the terminal. They were rescreened, and law enforcement inspected and cleared the aircraft. The safety of our passengers and crew is our top priority, and the flight reboarded and continued to Los Angeles (LAX). Further inquiries should be directed to law enforcement.”
