In Manhattan, four women were assaulted by a stranger who appeared to be emotionally disturbed, shouting “Leave me alone!” as he punched them in the face, according to police reports released on Thursday.
Authorities have shared surveillance video of the suspect and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating him.
The assaults occurred around 7 p.m. on February 12, near the intersection of W. 122nd St. and Broadway in Morningside Heights. Each victim was walking separately in different directions when the attacks took place, police stated.
Though the assailant had no previous encounters with the victims, he allegedly yelled “Leave me alone” before fleeing downtown along Broadway.
Among the victims, three women, aged 52, 35, and 24, did not need medical treatment, while another 35-year-old woman was transported to Mount Sinai Morningside for care.
The police urge anyone with information to reach out to Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All communications will be treated with confidentiality.
