A MAN has been accused of murdering a couple who were killed while hiking in front of their children.

The bodies of Clinton and Cristen Brink were discovered on a trail within Devil’s Den Park, a rural area in Arkansas, on July 26.

This led to a manhunt for the perpetrator, culminating in the arrest of a suspect on July 30.

James Andrew McGann, 28, was apprehended at a barbershop in Springdale, approximately 33 miles from Devil’s Den Park.

He is facing two charges of capital murder, as reported by the Arkansas State Police.

McGann’s arrest followed shortly after authorities released a sketch of the suspected killer’s likeness.

Cops are yet to reveal a motive behind the killings.

McGann could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of capital murder

Cops revealed McGann had just moved to the Arkansas area from Oklahoma before the killings.

He had been hired as a teacher at a local school.

The Brinks had also recently moved to Grand Prairie, Arkansas, from South Dakota.

Their children were not harmed in the attack, and they reported what had happened to staffers in a visitor center.

They said one of their parents had possibly been stabbed, according to CNN.

Troopers combed the park and audio captured the moment they stumbled across the bodies.

One officer claimed they could hear calls for help.

“Trying to relay to the office that we found the victims down here,” said another,” the second trooper said.

“They’re on the lower Devil’s Den Trail. I’ve got two… two bodies down here.”

Cops launched a probe and provided an outline about the suspect and his attire.

They believed he was wearing a long-sleeved shirt, dark pants, and dark baseball cap and sunglasses.

He was also wearing fingerless gloves and carrying a black backpack.

Cops believed his car was a Mazda that had its license plate covered with either duct or electrical tape.

They believed he left the park via the state’s Highway 170 or 220.

The terrain in Devil’s Den Park is rugged and cops revealed cellphone signal in the area is poor.

Officials closed all trails at the park following the killings.
