A teenager was brutally gang-raped by 23 men during a hellish week-ordeal during which her attackers drugged her with tainted noodles, police in India have revealed.
The 19-year-old alleged she was kidnapped by a man while returning from a friend’s house on March 29 in Varanasi, northern India.
She said she was taken to her attacker’s cafe in Lanka, a nearby town three miles southeast of Varanasi, and raped.
The teen was then taken by another man and his friend to a highway, where she was raped, before she was dropped off in Nadesar, another town.
There, the vulnerable victim was taken to a second cafe, this time in Maldahiya, by five men, who allegedly drugged and gang-raped her.
She was later taken to a hotel, and forced to massage a stranger before she was sexually assaulted again.
As she tried leaving this hotel, she was kidnapped by another man and taken to a hotel where he raped her and abandoned her.
The girl was then taken to a warehouse in Aurangabad, nearly two hours outside of her home city, where she was raped by three men.

After she managed to escape to a nearby shopping mall in Sigra, near her home town, she was offered noodles by two strangers.
But the men had allegedly drugged the food, and she was taken away to be attacked before being left in Assi Ghat, on the Ganges River.
She was later taken to another hotel, where she was raped by five men before finally managing to make it home to her family on April 4, who filed a police report upon her return.
Since then, six people have been arrested and charged for the sickening spree of attacks on the girl.
Locals cops said they have sent out three police teams to continue raiding locations associated with the other alleged rapists.
Earlier this year, a court in India sentenced five men to death for the gruesome gang rape and murder of a teenager as well as the killing of her father and toddler-aged niece.
The crime was committed in January 2021 when the men offered the girl and her family – all members of a disadvantaged tribal community in the central state of Chhattisgarh – lifts on their motorbikes while they were waiting for public transport.
They later clubbed the teenager’s father to death as he attempted to stop the rape and killed her three-year-old niece, public prosecutor Sunil Kumar Mishra told AFP.
The last victim was found unconscious by villagers several days later and died on her way to hospital.

Five men were found guilty of the rape and triple murder ‘and condemned to death’, Mishra said.
A sixth man ‘was found guilty of association in crimes, but his involvement in rape was not proved, so he was sentenced to imprisonment for the remainder of his life for killings’, he added.
India imposes the death penalty, although it is rarely carried out in practice.
