In July Orland Township trustees voted to close the Secretary of State’s office at Village Hall.
At that time the Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias promised to find a new location.
Monday, local officials opened the new temporary SOS office in Orland Park.

The Secretary of State’s Office has signed a one-year lease with the non-profit organization, Communities Transform Futures, which provides assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
“Our new Orland Park DMV is larger and will provide additional services to better serve more residents of the southland,” Giannoulias stated. “It is conveniently located just a five-mile drive south on LaGrange Road from the previous location and is easily accessible off the I-80 Expressway.”
While other towns and municipalities proposed locations, the office will currently operate here, offering extended hours, increased parking, and additional services such as road tests.
